Our goal for Moms
Living Clean is to be a catalyst to change stereotypes
about mothers with substance abuse issues to show that they care deeply for their children
and when they live in an environment that fully supports their motherhood - drug
rehabilitation and self-sufficiency becomes a reality.

Moms Living Clean
will give policy makers and legislators insight into the challenges faced by parents in
recovery by putting a face to the facts. This will inspire them to sustain and create more
substance abuse rehabilitation programs for women and children.
The intended audience for Moms Living Clean includes:
legislators, policy makers, social service providers, social work and mental health
professionals, women and men with substance abuse issues, their family and friends, and
the general public. Our goal is to evoke compassion for women in this multi-layered and
difficult situation. The viewer will be left with two motivations. 1) That many more
residential treatment programs for women and their children need to be funded. 2) That the
life-changing healing process for the women in the film will inspire others to integrate
some of the Concepts of Living into their own lives.
Distribution will be through traditional means including:
screenings at regional and national conferences on the issues, educational distribution to
high schools, colleges and universities, and public television broadcast. Other methods
include partnering with regional and national organizations whose mission is to promote
gender specific drug rehabilitation programs, and prevention and education about violence
against women and children.
Substance abuse is a major issue in this country. The
national public television broadcast of Moms
Living Clean will attract a diverse audience. The
heartfelt courageous stories of the six women in
Moms
Living Clean who are determined to turn their
lives around, puts a face on the stigma of mothers with substance abuse problems, and will
help bring greater understanding and compassion for them. Viewers will gain a greater
awareness of the need for more family centered rehabilitation programs. This will pave the
way for individual, family and community awareness that can lead to social change.
